Women disproportionately carry the burdens of sex, starting with buying and wearing the clownsuit we have to arrive at the date in, the tampons or mooncups we have to spend years buying and applying. And then, to top it all!, the biggest risk and burden of our gender being pregnant, carrying the baby to term, and bringing it up. Not to mention the risk of a man ignoring our No if we see a red flag on the date, or the risk of outright violence. The very least a man could do is bring the condom. The very least. They should bring the condom because of all the dickheads in the world who don't bring condoms and cause abortions and ruined lives of mothers and babies. Condoms are reparations. Cheap reparations.

Just go with it (2011) is a silly movie but I love the love scene in front of her hotel door. Anniston and Sandler do the best job of making me believe it. And I rarely do. Very rarely. Major suspension of diselief is required for love scenes for a radical feminist like me. I got it right with Hanks and Ryan too, and then she spoiled it by slagging off romantic comedies and refusing to consider doing one with Hanks again.

Loving the man-feminist  Pop Culture Detective  who shows us feminists here, that Abduction is framed as Romance in the movies. And while Kidnapping is a federal crime, the kidnapper-in-movies is dressed with hearts, empathy and flowers to overcome the sticky issue of #EnthusiasticConsent so that we women are not clear about what Red Flags really look like.  Not to mention the lack of clarity on what's not acceptable that is demonstrated to men. The blurry Red Flag makes men who can’t just ‘be nice’ and get women, instead they be awful and dream daily of just being able to abduct and rape.

The first scene has disgusted me. A six years old girl goes with a man she doesn't know for ice cream. While I was writing this the second scene disgusted me too. I don't hold out hope for redemption. The problem with movies is the addictive nature of the Pollyanna Phallussy. Because Sinatra ended up without the girl in the last piece of disgusting doggydooda, now I keep hoping. Sigh.
