Men must bring the condom

Image
Women disproportionately carry the burdens of sex, starting with buying and wearing the clownsuit we have to arrive at the date in, the tampons or mooncups we have to spend years buying and applying. And then, to top it all!, the biggest risk and burden of our gender being pregnant, carrying the baby to term, and bringing it up. Not to mention the risk of a man ignoring our No if we see a red flag on the date, or the risk of outright violence. The very least a man could do is bring the condom. The very least. They should bring the condom because of all the dickheads in the world who don't bring condoms and cause abortions and ruined lives of mothers and babies. Condoms are reparations. Cheap reparations.

I attend these diversity dialogues. And I am the worst dialoguer. Mainly because I am not the girl to describe-the-problem. Going over and over stuff and exploring feelings over and over is just not me. I went to a psychologist once for many months and was annoyed that I had suspended my disbelief in the process and found that psychologists are trained to describe-the-problem using variables from a pathologising formulaic book that rarely gets updated (DSM). They are so tentative, so hesitant, so bound to reality. People of privilege often don’t know words like ‘the Geni coefficient’ or ‘the Copper T’. I don’t mean to use these obscure terms, I hate people who try to baffle others and I rephrase if another opportunit...

Men were right

#Journal ~ People always laugh at me when I tell them that I have been asked (about feminism, which people ignoranly equate with lesbianism), "But if all women are feminist, how will we procreate?" As though the world is some idiocracy and people would forget how to have sex. As if there are not piles and piles of video that can remind one.  Feminism ~ Well there's an irony developing in a tiny microcosm of the world. Japan is a 'first world' country that is small and sensitive to internal and external changes. Their birthrate has dropped so low that they don't have a big enough tax base to sustain their population in the style to which they have become accustomed - universal health care, elderly care, day care, street care, housing care, welfare. And forests full of people are committing suicide at the end of a string that they tie to themselves, so that they can find their way out of the forest if they change their mind (and/or that they can be found...
